The very first version of the European Language Grid will be demonstrated at META-FORUM 2019, which will take place on 8/9 October in Brussels, Belgium. The demo will include key pieces of the ELG core functionality.
To reach this ambitious goal, five of the technical ELG partners (DFKI, ILSP, USFD, Tilde, ESI) came together for a coding week at DFKI, Berlin, between 20 and 24 May 2019. The goal of this hackathon was to get all participants involved in the distributed development process and to come to a shared understanding how to include components and services in the platform.
Each day started with a daily stand-up meeting in which open questions were discussed. We identified who had to work with whom over the day to get the needed functionality working, and defined the overall aim for the day.
We’re happy to report that the coding week was a great success. A very first end-to-end demo version of the system has been realised and will be further extended in the coming weeks.
The ELG technical team looks forward to continue working on the system and demostrating it in October at
